Caller introduced themself as Alison from the Wireless Communications Bureau. Calling in regard to my registered wireless number with Verizon -- 202.688.9283 in Washington DC. My reply to caller "interesting, given I DO NOT have such a number registered with Verizon. In looking up your 'Wireless Telecommunications Bureau', I see it appears to be a commission of the FCC and from description of commission not one that would be calling a consumer as you did in this call. So, I ask again, 'what is the reason for your call?' And the caller hung up disconnected the call. This incident was reported to the FCC Wireless Telecommunications Bureau via their complaint form with added comment that if this is a scam they may want to get out ahead of it with a public service announcement via mass media local news, if it was not a scam and they in fact need to discuss the alleged Verizon wireless number 202-688-9283 registered in my name falsely, please call me back.
