A Settlement.
Received an unsolicited text message on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 9:53 AM CDT from this toll-free number, sent under the brand name 'PublicAlerts.' The message read: 'PublicAlerts: Trying to reach recipient name at recipient phone. Settlement claim deadline approaches. See: [link removed] Reply STOP to opt out'. This is a fake class-action settlement notice scam. It names no defendant, case, court, or claim ID, and the included link runs through a marketing redirect domain go.public-[link removed] instead of a legitimate settlement administrator's website. 'PublicAlerts' appears to be a legal lead-generation firm, not a settlement claims administrator. I did not click the link, send any money, or reply to the message.
Unsolicited texts are being reported as government-style public alerts, including a go.public-[link removed] link. A spam feed logged that pattern on October 7, 2026, matching an earlier public-alert impersonation note and a separate text report from October 6.
